I Put On My Socks in the Wrong Order and Now I'm Gonna Get Hit By A Car

I think as I put on my boots anyway. I’m supposed to
resist compulsions when I feel capable
because it makes the misfiring neurons weaker, and today
I’m feeling capable of lots of stuff, so I guess that means
today I’m fighting my brain. When the brain says,
“You’re gonna bleed out on the sidewalk,”
I’ll say, “Then the grass will have something
to drink.” When the brain says, “This is the day
you go to the bridge,” I’ll say, “But there are
so many bridges.” Nothing gets to want me
dead and avoid the consequences. You’ll get
the socks you get, brain, we’re going to the airport.
