Breathe on Me
One
of thousands of cheap rented rooms.
One
of thousands of tire, lonely people.
She watches
the rain write
autumn
on the window.
After a few years
she says,
"God, please breathe on me."
After a few more years
she says,
"I think
I'll go out
and
get
a bowl of soup."
