Night
I went to the castle to see the queen.
She was in the garden burning flowers.
"I see you are here on time as always,"
she said, striking a match to an orchid.
The petals caught on fire and burned
like the clothes of an angel.
I took out a knife and cut off my finger.
"These flowers," she said smiling,
"don't they burn with a beautiful light?"
